Warranty Policy for Outboard Repower Shop

At Outboard Repower Shop, we are dedicated to providing high-quality used outboard motors, refurbished outboard engines, repower kits, and marine accessories. We stand behind every product we sell with clear, straightforward warranty coverage designed to give you confidence and peace of mind on the water.

This Warranty Policy applies to all purchases made through https://outboardrepowershop.com. Warranties are provided directly by Outboard Repower Shop unless otherwise stated (e.g., manufacturer warranties on new items). By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. General Warranty Overview

  • New Products: Carry the full original manufacturer’s warranty (e.g., Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda). We will provide the manufacturer’s warranty details at the time of purchase and assist with any claims.
  • Used Outboard Motors: Covered by our 90-Day Limited Warranty (see details below).
  • Refurbished Outboard Engines: Covered by our 180-Day Limited Warranty (see details below), reflecting the extensive testing and replacement of worn components during refurbishment.
  • Accessories and Parts (propellers, controls, gauges, rigging, etc.): Covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, unless specified otherwise.

2. 90-Day Limited Warranty – Used Outboard Motors

Applies to all used outboard motors sold in “as-is inspected” condition with low-to-moderate hours and documented service history.

Coverage:

  • Protects against major mechanical failures in the powerhead, midsection, and lower unit under normal recreational use.
  • Includes defects in materials or workmanship that prevent the motor from running as described at the time of sale.

What Is Covered:

  • Parts and labor required to repair or replace failed components directly related to the failure.
  • Compression issues, gearcase failures, or electrical system faults present at time of delivery but not detectable during pre-sale testing.

Duration: 90 days from the date of delivery.

3. 180-Day Limited Warranty – Refurbished Outboard Engines

Applies to all refurbished outboard engines that have undergone our comprehensive refurbishment process (new impellers, thermostats, seals, gaskets, and other wear items as needed).

Coverage:

  • Same as the 90-Day Warranty, plus extended protection reflecting the additional work performed.
  • Includes any failure of newly installed replacement parts.

Duration: 180 days from the date of delivery.

4. 1-Year Limited Warranty – Accessories and Parts

Applies to new and select used accessories (propellers, controls, gauges, rigging components, etc.).

Coverage:

  • Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Duration: 1 year from the date of delivery.

5. What Is Not Covered (Exclusions)

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, improper installation, accident, corrosion, or racing/modified use.
  • Normal wear and tear items (e.g., spark plugs, anodes, filters) unless part of a refurbishment.
  • Damage from improper storage, lack of maintenance, or use of incorrect fuel/oil.
  • Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, paint fading) that does not affect performance.
  • Failures due to environmental factors (e.g., saltwater corrosion if not properly flushed).
  • Labor costs for removal/reinstallation unless pre-approved in writing.
  • Consequential damages (e.g., towing fees, lost time, boat rental).

6. Warranty Claim Process

  1. Contact Us Immediately: Notify us within 7 days of discovering an issue at sales@outboardrepowershop.com or +1(954) 833-5970 (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST). Provide your order number, description of the issue, photos/videos, and proof of proper maintenance.
  2. Diagnosis: We may request diagnostic information or ask you to bring the motor to an authorized marine technician for evaluation (at our expense if covered).
  3. Repair or Replacement: If the claim is approved, we will, at our option:
    • Repair the item.
    • Replace it with a comparable item.
    • Issue a refund (prorated for time used, if applicable).
  4. Shipping: We cover return shipping for approved warranty claims within the U.S. International customers are responsible for shipping costs.

7. Transferability

Warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser.

8. Combination with Return Policy

This warranty is in addition to our standard 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee. You may return an item under the Return Policy even if it is functioning properly.

9. Limitation of Liability

OUR WARRANTY OBLIGATION IS LIMITED TO REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR REFUND AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Warranty Policy at any time. Updates will be posted here with the new effective date.
